VALENTINES

the one day of the year you either love or hate.  I personally love it, but I basically love everything.  We have  two ways of seeing things, rain or rainbows.  I choose the rainbow eye.  Maybe that is why we have two eyes, I am not sure.

I started this blog for a few reasons, well 3 to be exact.

First- I love Champagne, Sparking Wine, Wine, Prosecco, Cava, and even sparkling water.  There is a plethora of information on food and wine pairing, but very little on Champagne and food. I plan on learning what I can about this subject and blogging my journey as I learn.  #1 objective of this blog will be focused on what to pair with these amazing tiny bubbles.

Second- I have this amazing puppy who has taken control of my life and I am sure you want to share Kona Kai’s  journey through wine country with me.

Third- I happen to be an extremely optimistic person, to the point that it even makes me sick sometimes.  I really believe that happy thoughts and a positive outlook controls your surroundings.  I refuse to let people bring me down.  So if you thought the rainbow was in reference to a lifestyle choice it is.  I am happy, straight and have the best husband I could every ask for.

Today is Valentines and most people love to pair Champagne and Chocolate. This works only if you have a really fattening chocolate.  One that is stuffed with gooey caramel, yummy cashews, white chocolate and or milk chocolate.   The higher the fat content in this sugary sweetness you are going to pop into your mouth, the better it is going to taste. You could go with a gooey brownie, chocolate cake, or even a scrumptious cupcake with cream cheese frosting.  I personally am going to go for a basic stand by if I am going to pair with Chocolate.

Veuve Clicquot is what I have on hand and a lovely box of Seattle Chocolates, San Juan Sea Salt Truffle seems to pair nicely. mmmmm excuse me while I drool.

You could easily go with the Rose’ or the Brut.  The choice is yours really.  I guess it all depends on if you are wearing your Rose’ colored glasses this Valentines Day!

Cheers
